Marie Antoinette once said, “Let them eat cake.” To that, I say: Why not? After all, there’s a bajillion types of cake, some so sweet that your teeth hurt near the end but you can’t help but ravage the rest; some are mild, but hearty and leave you utterly satisfied; some are concocted by the ones dearest to us which, for some strange reason, makes them taste so much better.

So yes, Antoinette, let them eat cake and let them eat lots of it! Dear readers, I won’t be offended if you scurry off to grab a piece before mentally devouring these lovely, Marie Antoinette-inspired bits.
